How to drain ice maker in kitchen without floor drain?

Does the ice maker have a built in pump? Many ice makers, especially the larger commercial type don't actually chill the storage compartment. If this is the case the ice on the bottom melts ensuring that the ice never gets stale. It sounds like your will be similar to a model like this. If so then it will need a drain line. Don't try to use the clean out or other no designed port for the drain line. The local home store sells pvc pieces that have a attachment for a dishwasher. This should be suitable for your needs. Also you need to make sure that it is properly installed so that waste water from the sink or god forbid, sewage, won't back up into the bottom of the ice maker. If you need a pump get one that is specific for the job. using a water fountain pump is a bad idea. they run all the time and there will not be enough water to need one all the time. A ice maker pump will cycle as needed.
